Designing Diagrams That Explain Architecture Faster Than Paragraphs
A lightweight visual system for boxes, arrows, and flow annotations that makes architecture notes easier to scan and retain.

A diagram should answer one question quickly. If it tries to explain data flow, deployment topology, ownership, and failure recovery at once, it becomes a poster instead of a thinking tool.
Use consistent shapes for consistent meanings. Boxes for systems, cylinders for durable stores, arrows for direction, and labels only where the relationship is not obvious.
The best architecture diagrams leave room for the reader's eye to move. White space is not decoration; it is how the diagram tells the reader where one idea ends and another begins.
