Turning Notes Into Deliberate Practice Instead of Passive Reading
Why most engineers over-consume content, and how to convert notes into problem-solving sessions, mock tradeoffs, and retention.

Notes become useful only when they change how you behave during practice. A highlight is not a skill yet; it is a bookmark for something you still need to use.
After reading a section, write one interview-style question it should help answer. Then answer that question without looking. The gap between your notes and your answer shows what needs practice.
The best notes are short enough to revisit and specific enough to trigger action. Prefer examples, tradeoffs, and failure modes over polished definitions.
